SinAm Aviation Helps Utah Flight School Obtain Chinese Flight Training Certification
SinAm Aviation assists Cornerstone Aviation to receive certification to train Chinese cadets.


SALT LAKE CITY, UT, January 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) has certified SinAm Aviation's flight training partner, Cornerstone Aviation, to train Chinese flight cadets. SinAm and Cornerstone will work together to oversee the training for Chinese cadets selected by Chinese airlines to become airline pilots. The students will train at Cornerstone's facility in Ogden, Utah. They will have the option of receiving college credit from Salt Lake Community College.

"We are so pleased to see this," says Andrew Rail, SinAm Aviation's CEO. "Only 15 schools in the United States currently hold such certifications. China has halted the application process, so we were very grateful that we entered the window when we did."

SinAm worked with Cornerstone Aviation through the application process, introducing Cornerstone Aviation to the CAAC, submitting the necessary paperwork. This past December, helped to host three delegates from the CAAC as they visited Utah to audit Cornerstone Aviation. The CAAC, China's version of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, is the body that oversees training of the fastest growing aviation market in the world. In a time when many airlines are closing their doors and needing to find new ways to stay in business, China's airlines continue to grow as they meet the demands of a growing middle class. Hundreds of new pilots will be needed every year for the next several years.

"The next step is to actually bring Chinese students over here," explained Mr. Rail. "We are currently in negotiation with a number of Chinese airlines to train their pilots." Unlike in U.S. airlines, Chinese airlines typically recruit potential pilots out of college. The airlines then arrange for the flight training, selecting where the students learn to fly.

This is the second Chinese certificate that SinAm Aviation has helped Cornerstone to secure. The certificate allows Chinese students to train at Cornerstone until December 2011.
