LDS Church Conference Center Adds NVerzion Automation Control for Global Broadcast
Latter Day Saints effortlessly manage complicated broadcast in 96 languages across as many as 40 channels using NVerzion.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, April 16, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- NVerzion, a 20-year provider of automation control, monitoring and integrated storage management solutions, today announced the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has selected an NVerzion automation package to control the broadcast of church programming to their global audience.

The solution incorporates an Omneon Spectrum media server and NVerzion's NCONTROLite automation software package including seven NCONTROL on-air playlists, giving the church staff the ability to record up to 96 live audio channels and play out video with the language that coincides with each satellite transponder and its corresponding broadcast area.

"The installation went smoothly and everything is working great," said David Gabbitas, Engineer for the LDS Church. "We chose NVerzion for the value, support and experience that NVerzion provides to the overall project. Not to mention, our Chief Engineer's positive previous experience with them on other projects. NVerzion has been great in making programming changes to accommodate our unusual situation. Managing 96 languages generally requires a longer cue time for all devices, but the NVerzion software makes it seamless."

At the time of transmission, as many as four satellite transponders can be utilized to accept a selection of the 96 audio channels. In addition, each transponder must deliver between 20 and 40 outbound audio channels with each video feed. The flexible software architecture of NCONTROLite gives the church the ability to make modifications specific to their use, giving the staff the ability to easily manage a very complicated broadcast, delivering the appropriate combination of language tracks to each transponder.

"In the traditional broadcast spectrum, the typical audio requirements have been based on the local language requirements which might be up to 8 audio levels. This unique global audio language control was a project that is rare and challenging said Reed Haslam, Director of Sales for NVerzion. "Not only was this particular project a unique situation, but many others have come to NVerzion for our suggestions and control solutions. We thrive on the ability to continually offer tailored solutions since we know that not one project is the same".

The installation also included NLINE multi-channel playlist monitoring application, NGEST, NPOINT, NTIME, NBASE/NVIEW and EMC device controller with router interface.
